How to Improve Your Email Deliverability

On this help page, we will give you simple tips on how to improve the deliverability of your emails.

Email deliverability refers to an email's ability to reach its recipients in their main inbox without being filtered or sent to a spam folder. It is a key factor in your marketing operations.

Factors that influence email deliverability:

  • The quality of the sending email address (using a personalized, authenticated domain name with a good reputation)

  • The hygiene of your email address base (contact list)

  • The reputation of the IP addresses of the sending servers

  • The rate of Spam/Bounced emails

  • The possible presence of spam words

1. Only Send Emails to People Who Have Agreed to Receive Them

This is the foundation of good email deliverability. On MerwinSaaS, it is forbidden to import a contact list containing email addresses of contacts who have not authorized you to send them emails. It is forbidden to import contact lists bought on the Internet or scraped lists. Without explicit consent, your emails are more likely to be flagged as spam.

2. Keep Your Open Rate Above 20%

It's always nice to have a large email list, but if too many contacts stop opening your emails, it can affect deliverability. We recommend regularly deleting inactive contacts to ensure you only send emails to engaged contacts and keep your open rates high.

On a weekly or bi-weekly basis, search for all contacts who have not engaged with your emails within the past 3 months and remove them.

3. Authenticate the Domain Name Used to Send Emails

It is important to use an authenticated domain name for sending emails. Receiving servers tend to reject or move to junk any emails that are not correctly authenticated. Refer to the article "How to Authenticate Your Domain Name for Email Sending" for the full procedure.

How to Manually Clean Your Email List

This guide will walk you through the process of cleaning your contact list by removing inactive, unsubscribed, and bounced email addresses.

What you will need:

  • A MerwinSaaS account

  • A list of contacts

Good email deliverability means your emails land in the inbox rather than the spam folder. Sending emails to non-existent recipients will lower your deliverability rate and can harm your sender reputation. We recommend aiming for a minimum open rate of 20%.

1. Clean Your Email List by Deleting Inactive Contacts

  1. Go to the CRM tab in your account, then click on Contacts.

  1. Activate the Email activity filter, then choose a date from 1 month ago in the "No email opened or clicked since" field.

  1. Use the Contact state filter and select "Has not made any payment yet" to isolate non-customers. This helps preserve customer data for accounting purposes.

  1. You will now see all contacts who have not opened or clicked a link in your emails in the last month and who have never purchased anything from you.

  1. Select the entire list, then click Delete.

2. Stop Sending Emails to Inactive Contacts

For existing customers, unsubscribe them from emails rather than deleting their records — their purchase history is valuable. Follow these steps to stop sending emails to inactive contacts:

  1. Activate the Email activity filter and select a date from 1 month ago in the "No email opened or clicked since" field.

  1. Select all contacts, click More actions, then click Unsubscribe from all marketing emails.

Note: You can also assign a tag to your list of inactive contacts and try to re-engage them with an email campaign. However, we advise against trying to re-engage contacts who have been inactive for a very long time.

How to Improve the Deliverability of My Emails (Advanced Tips)

In this article, we share advanced tips to improve the deliverability of your emails. These tips are for those already familiar with the concept of deliverability.

The deliverability of your emails depends above all on your practices. We advise you to do 5 things:

  1. Use a personalized and authenticated domain name.

  1. Regularly clean your contact list of bounced contacts, unsubscribers, and especially those who no longer open your emails.

  1. Send emails only to people who have agreed to receive them.

  1. Understand the MerwinSaaS indicators in your emails.

  1. Analyze your statistics.

1. Use a Personalized and Authenticated Domain Name

Many receiving servers filter emails based on incoming streams using spam filters. Using an email address with a personalized domain name and authenticating it with our services gains you credibility with your contacts and improves your technical reputation with receiving servers.

2. Clean Up Your Contact List Regularly

It is essential to keep a close eye on your contact base. The explicit agreement of all contacts is a condition before importing them into MerwinSaaS. Contacts need to know they are on your mailing list and what content you will send them. We do not allow email addresses purchased or found on the internet.

MerwinSaaS reserves the right to suspend the email function as well as block accounts for any behavior likely to harm the efficiency of the service.

2.1 Remove Non-Existent Addresses

There are 2 types of non-existent addresses: old email addresses that may have been closed or deleted, and misspelled email addresses (automatically deleted by our system). Use the Contact state filter to find contacts in "Bounced" status and delete them.

2.2 Delete Inactive Addresses

Inactive contacts cause your open rate to drop, directly impacting your reputation with email providers. You have 2 options: undertake a specific re-engagement campaign (only recommended if your list is segmented), or permanently remove these addresses using the filters in MerwinSaaS.

2.3 Implement Double Opt-In

When contacts register on a double opt-in page, they receive an email with a confirmation link. If they do not click within 24 hours, they are automatically removed. Benefits include preventing bots from remaining on your list and providing double confirmation of consent.

3. Follow Good Emailing Practices

3.1 Send Targeted Emails

Good targeting means ensuring that the contacts on your list are interested in what you have to offer. Segment your contacts using TAGs to share content that matches their interests. Never send emails to contacts who have not permitted you.

3.2 Take Care of Your Subject Lines

The subject line is the first thing your prospects see. Follow these best practices:

  • Don't leave the subject empty

  • Avoid shocking, controversial words and capital letters

  • Limit special characters, such as exclamation marks and question marks

  • It is forbidden to use the identity of a third person or company

  • Use only one sender name per account/email address

  • Do not use link reducers (Bitly, TinyURL, etc.) in your emails

  • Use links to downloadable files instead of attachments

3.3 Beware of Spam Words

Spam detection by artificial intelligence has evolved significantly. Tools now analyze the context of the email, the number of occurrences of a word, its placement, and its spelling. Avoiding "spam words" is essential to prevent your message from being placed in the spam/junk folder.

3.4 Make It Easy to Unsubscribe

When a user receives an email they do not want, they will either unsubscribe, stop opening emails, or report as spam. Being regularly reported as spam will have a catastrophic effect on your deliverability. Unsubscribing is by far the best option for both parties.

3.5 Sign Your Emails

Add your name, brand name, and information in the footer of your email. If you are a company, include its name and a link to your website. It is also strongly recommended that all links in the email and the sending domain name point to the same accessible domain.

4. Understand the Indicators in Your Emails

With MerwinSaaS, users are divided into pools, each using a different set of IP addresses. The reputation of these IP addresses is one of the most important factors in ensuring email deliverability.

Pool types:

  • Green pool: excellent statistics

  • Yellow pool: average statistics

  • Red pool: poor statistics

  • Quarantine pool: for new users with bad statistics

  • Gray pool: new users — moved to one of the four pools after sending at least 500 emails

4.1 The Rules

  • Users are allocated to different groups every morning.

  • A user must use MerwinSaaS for at least 16 days to be placed in a pool other than the new user pool.

  • A user can only be moved from one pool to another after being in the current pool for at least 14 days and after sending a minimum number of emails (New User: 500, Quarantine: 1000, all others: 5000).

4.2 Thresholds

High risk: Open rate < 10%, Spam report 0.4%–1% (min 6), Bounce rate 1.8%–5% (min 30)

Moderate risk: Open rate 10%–20%, Spam report 0.25%–0.4%, Bounce rate 0.7%–1.8%

Low risk: Open rate > 20%, Spam report < 0.25%, Bounce rate < 0.7%

Quarantine: Spam report > 1% OR Bounce rate > 5% (checked in last 24 hours)

5. Analyze Your Email Statistics

To ensure good deliverability, MerwinSaaS monitors user activity daily. Here are the key benchmarks:

Bounce rate: < 0.5% = OK; 0.6%–1.9% = investigate; 2%+ = critical, contact support immediately.

Spam reports: < 0.08% = OK; 0.08%–0.19% = find the cause; 0.2%+ = critical, contact support immediately.

Open rate: 20%+ = good; 10%–20% = average; < 10% = you need to clean your contact list.

How to Set Up a GDPR Compliant Cookie Banner

In this article, you'll learn how to set up a GDPR-compliant cookie banner using an external tool.

What you'll need:

  • A MerwinSaaS account

Note: Cookiebot's free plan only allows you to add one domain name.

Steps

  1. In the Domains tab, click the green Plus (+) button to add your domain name.

  1. Go to the Banner tab to customize the look and behavior of your cookie banner. Select your preferences and configure the Cookies consent method.

  1. In the Privacy Trigger tab, enable the Privacy Trigger, which will appear on all pages of your website and allow visitors to view and manage their consent. Configure its position and theme.

  1. The Declaration tab (paid users only) allows you to automatically display detailed cookie information.

Understanding and managing email bounce on MerwinSaaS

Learn the difference between hard and soft bounces and how they affect your sender reputation.

What is an Email Bounce?

A bounce occurs when an email cannot be delivered to the recipient's inbox.

Hard Bounces

A hard bounce is a permanent delivery failure. This usually happens because the email address does not exist or the domain is invalid. MerwinSaaS automatically unsubscribes hard-bounced contacts to protect your reputation.

Soft Bounces

A soft bounce is a temporary delivery failure. This could be due to a full mailbox, a server being down, or the message being too large. MerwinSaaS will attempt to re-send these messages several times before giving up.

General guidelines and best practices for email deliverability during the first few days

Establish a strong sender reputation when you first start sending from MerwinSaaS.

The 'Warm-up' Period

When you switch to a new platform like MerwinSaaS, mailbox providers (like Gmail or Outlook) need to learn that you are a legitimate sender.

Send to Engaged Contacts First

  • In your first few days, only send emails to your most active subscribers—those who have opened or clicked your emails in the last 30 to 60 days.

Verify Your Domain

  • Ensure your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are correctly configured in your MerwinSaaS settings before sending your first broadcast.

Consistency is Key

  • Avoid sudden spikes in volume. Increase your sending frequency and list size gradually over the first two weeks.

Why did my open rate change after switching to MerwinSaaS?

Understand the factors that influence open rate fluctuations during a platform migration.

Tracking Differences

Every platform uses a slightly different tracking pixel technology. These minor technical variations can result in small discrepancies in reported open rates.

IP and Domain Reputation

When you move to MerwinSaaS, you are sending from a new infrastructure. If your domain isn't fully 'warmed up' on our system, filters may be more cautious initially, affecting how many people see your mail.

List Hygiene

If you haven't cleaned your list before importing it to MerwinSaaS, high bounce rates from inactive emails can negatively impact your deliverability and open rates.

Essential steps to import contacts successfully

Guidelines for a smooth and compliant contact migration to your MerwinSaaS account.

Prepare Your CSV File

Ensure your file is in .csv format. The first row should contain headers (Email, First Name, etc.), and each contact must have a valid email address.

Permission-Based Marketing

Only import contacts who have explicitly given you permission to email them. MerwinSaaS prohibits the use of purchased or scraped lists.

Mapping Fields

During the import process, carefully map your CSV columns to the corresponding MerwinSaaS contact fields to ensure data accuracy.

Tagging on Import

We recommend adding a tag to your contacts during the import (e.g., 'Imported_May_2026') so you can easily segment them later.

Which links are not allowed in emails sent from MerwinSaaS?

Keep your deliverability high by avoiding restricted or suspicious link types.

Restricted Link Types

To protect our shared sender reputation, MerwinSaaS restricts the use of certain links that are commonly flagged by spam filters.

URL Shorteners

  • Generic URL shorteners like bit.ly, tinyurl.com, or goo.gl are often used by spammers. Using these can cause your emails to be blocked or sent to spam. Use full URLs or your own branded shortener instead.

Blacklisted Domains

  • Links to domains that are on global blacklists (like Spamhaus) are strictly prohibited and will trigger an automatic block of your email.

Direct Affiliate Links

  • While affiliate marketing is allowed, some 'raw' affiliate links from specific networks are heavily filtered. It is always better to link to a bridge page on your own domain.

Why do my emails arrive in the Gmail 'promotions' tab?

Understanding Gmail's categorization and how to influence your email placement.

The Promotions Tab is Not Spam

First, remember that the Promotions tab is still the inbox. Many users check this tab specifically when they are in a 'shopping' or 'learning' mindset.

Triggers for the Promotions Tab

Gmail uses complex algorithms to sort mail. Common triggers include:

  • - A high ratio of images to text.

  • - The presence of 'salesy' language (e.g., 'Buy Now', 'Discount', 'Offer').

  • - Using multiple links or a heavy HTML layout.

How to Move to the Primary Tab

Ask your subscribers to drag your email from the Promotions tab to the Primary tab. Gmail will then ask if they want to do this for all future messages from you.

What to do with contacts that have a 'Bounced' status

Manage your bounced contacts to keep your email list healthy and your deliverability high.

Automatic Handling

When a contact hard bounces, MerwinSaaS automatically marks them as 'Bounced' and stops sending them emails. You do not need to delete them manually, though you can if you wish to clean your database.

Reviewing Bounces

  1. 1. Go to your Contacts list and filter by 'Bounced' status.

  1. 2. If you see a contact you know is valid, check for typos (e.g., 'gmial.com' instead of 'gmail.com').

Preventing Future Bounces

Always use a double opt-in process for new subscribers to ensure that only valid, working email addresses are added to your MerwinSaaS list.

Why do my emails end up in the spam folder?

Identify the common reasons for spam filtration and how to ensure your messages reach the inbox.

Authentication Issues

If you haven't set up your custom domain authentication (SPF and DKIM) in MerwinSaaS, mailbox providers are much more likely to view your emails as suspicious.

Content Triggers

Spam filters look for certain patterns. Avoid using all-caps in subject lines, excessive exclamation points, and trigger words like 'Free money' or 'Guarantee'.

Poor Sender Reputation

If many recipients have marked your previous emails as spam, your reputation will suffer. Ensure you are providing value and that your 'Unsubscribe' link is easy to find.

Details about the fields required when creating a blog category

Understand the specific data points needed to organize your blog content effectively.

Category Fields

  • Name: The display name of the category (e.g., 'Marketing Tips').

  • URL Path: The slug that appears in the web address. It should be lowercase and hyphenated.

  • Description: A brief summary of what this category covers. This often helps with SEO and page layout.

  • SEO Title & Description: Custom metadata used by search engines to display your category page in search results.

Having an issue with your order? Here's how to resolve it without opening a dispute

A guide for customers on how to communicate effectively with sellers to resolve transaction issues.

Why Avoid Disputes?

Opening a dispute through a payment processor (like PayPal or Stripe) can freeze funds for weeks. Resolving the issue directly with the seller is usually much faster.

Step 1: Contact Support Directly

  • Look for the 'Support' or 'Contact' email address in your order confirmation email. Send a polite message detailing the issue and include your order ID.

Step 2: Check for Automated Access

  • Sometimes, access to a course or community is granted via email. Check your spam or 'Promotions' folder for a login link before assuming the order failed.

Step 3: Request a Refund

  • If you are unhappy with the product, ask the seller for a refund directly. Most MerwinSaaS users have refund policies in place and will process them if requested correctly.

Why aren't my PayPal payment transactions appearing?

Troubleshoot missing PayPal transactions in your MerwinSaaS dashboard.

Common Causes

IPN (Instant Payment Notification) Issues

If PayPal's IPN is not correctly configured, PayPal cannot 'tell' MerwinSaaS that a payment was successful. Ensure IPN is enabled in your PayPal developer settings and pointed to the correct URL.

Pending Status

Sometimes PayPal holds funds for review. The transaction will only appear in MerwinSaaS once the status changes to 'Completed' in your PayPal account.

Currency Mismatch

If the customer pays in a currency you haven't enabled in PayPal, the payment may be stuck waiting for your manual approval to accept the conversion.

What happens when a customer's subscription payment fails

Learn about the automated dunning process and how MerwinSaaS manages access after a failed charge.

Automated Retries

MerwinSaaS, via your payment gateway, will automatically attempt to charge the card again over several days. You can configure these intervals in your Stripe or PayPal settings.

Notification Emails

The system can send automated emails to the customer informing them of the failure and providing a link to update their credit card information.

Access Revocation

If the final retry attempt fails, MerwinSaaS will automatically remove the tags and resources associated with that subscription, effectively suspending the customer's access.

Email deliverability: how spam filters work

An overview of the mechanisms mailbox providers use to identify and block unwanted mail.

The Filter Logic

Spam filters analyze hundreds of factors to determine where your email lands. The most important ones include:

  • Reputation: Is your sending domain known for high engagement or high complaints?

  • Content: Does the email contain suspicious attachments, malicious links, or excessive 'spammy' keywords?

  • Authentication: Does the email pass SPF, DKIM, and DMARC checks?

  • User Behavior: Do people often mark your emails as 'Not Spam' or do they delete them without opening?

DMARC Reports: How to read and use them

Understand the feedback reports sent by mailbox providers regarding your email authentication.

What is a DMARC Report?

DMARC reports provide data on which emails sent from your domain passed or failed authentication. They help you identify if someone is spoofing your domain.

How to Read Them

Reports are sent in XML format, which can be hard to read manually. We recommend using a DMARC monitoring tool to visualize the data.

Key Actions

If you see legitimate emails (like those from MerwinSaaS) failing, it means your DKIM or SPF records need adjustment. If you see unknown IP addresses failing, the DMARC policy is doing its job by protecting your brand.

Does MerwinSaaS work with large email lists?

Scalability and performance details for high-volume email marketers.

Scalability

Yes, MerwinSaaS is designed to scale. Our 'Unlimited' plan supports accounts with massive contact lists and high monthly send volumes.

Infrastructure

We use robust, world-class email delivery infrastructure to ensure that even large broadcasts are processed quickly and reliably.

List Quality

For very large lists, list hygiene becomes critical. We require users to maintain low bounce and complaint rates to ensure high deliverability for everyone on our shared servers.

Do you need a dedicated IP to send emails with MerwinSaaS?

Understanding the difference between shared and dedicated IPs for your business.

Shared IPs

Most users send via our highly-monitored shared IP pools. This is beneficial for most businesses because the IP is already 'warm' and has a solid reputation.

Dedicated IPs

While dedicated IPs are available for extremely high-volume senders, they are not necessary for most MerwinSaaS users. Sending from a dedicated IP requires a careful warm-up process and constant monitoring by the user.

How can I prevent list bombing?

Protect your email reputation and account from malicious automated sign-ups.

What is List Bombing?

List bombing is a malicious attack where bots fill out your forms with thousands of random email addresses, which can lead to high bounce rates and spam complaints.

Prevention Strategies

  • Double Opt-In (DOI): Require users to click a link in a confirmation email before they are added to your list. This is the most effective defense.

  • Captcha: Add a reCAPTCHA field to your opt-in forms to verify that the user is human.

  • Rate Limiting: MerwinSaaS has built-in protections to detect and slow down suspicious spikes in form submissions.

Is it possible to use a personal email address to send emails from MerwinSaaS?

Guidelines on using professional vs. personal email addresses for your business communications.

Professional vs. Personal Emails

While you technically can use a personal email (like @gmail.com or @yahoo.com), we strongly advise against it.

Why Use a Professional Email?

  • Deliverability: Major mailbox providers are increasingly blocking bulk emails sent from personal addresses to combat spam.

  • Authentication: You cannot set up DKIM or SPF records on a personal email address, which is essential for hitting the inbox in 2026.

What is the 'Search Engine Optimization (SEO)' section for?

How to use the SEO settings in the MerwinSaaS editor to improve your site's visibility.

SEO Settings Overview

Every page in MerwinSaaS has an SEO section in the settings. This data helps search engines understand and rank your content.

Key Fields

  • Title: The headline that appears in search results and browser tabs.

  • Description: The snippet of text displayed under your title in search results.

  • Keywords: Relevant terms associated with your page content.

  • Social Image: The thumbnail image shown when your link is shared on platforms like Facebook or X.

Why am I seeing the 'At least one email input is required' error?

Troubleshoot common form errors in the MerwinSaaS page editor.

The Cause

This error occurs when you have a 'Submit' button on a page, but the page doesn't have a field where the user can actually enter their email address.

How to Fix It

  1. 1. Drag an 'Input' element onto your page form.

  1. 2. Click on the input element to open its settings.

  1. 3. Set the 'Input type' to 'Email'.

  1. 4. Ensure your button's action is set to 'Submit form'.

Is it possible to insert HTML, CSS, or JS code?

Advanced customization options using custom code blocks in MerwinSaaS.

The Raw HTML Element

Yes! You can add custom functionality by dragging the 'Raw HTML' element onto any page.

Usage Cases

  • - CSS: Wrap your code in <style> tags to change specific design elements.

  • - JS: Wrap scripts in <script> tags for tracking pixels or custom widgets.

  • - HTML: Embed third-party tools like calendars or specialized forms.

Note: MerwinSaaS support cannot troubleshoot issues caused by custom code.

Why is my student's activity log file damaged?

Understanding why student progress reports or CSV exports might appear corrupted.

Common Reasons

  • Incomplete Export: If the browser is closed or the connection is lost during a large data export, the file may be incomplete.

  • Encoding Issues: Opening a CSV file in certain versions of Excel can sometimes garble special characters. We recommend using Google Sheets for the best compatibility.

  • Data Sync: If a student is currently active while the log is being generated, a momentary sync error may occur.

Can the automated email that gives access details for a course be modified?

Learn how to customize the login information email sent to your students.

Customizing Course Emails

Yes, you can edit the content of the automatic emails that go out when a student gains access to a course.

How to Edit

  1. 1. Go to 'Settings' and then 'Emails'.

  1. 2. Locate the 'Course access email' template.

  1. 3. Click 'Edit' to change the text, branding, and use variables like {student_name} and {login_url}.

What are the different methods for giving access to a course?

Explore the various ways to enroll students in your MerwinSaaS training programs.

Method 1: Manual Enrollment

Go to the 'Students' tab in your course settings and manually add an email address.

Method 2: Automation Rules

Set up a trigger (e.g., 'Tag added' or 'Form submitted') with the action 'Enroll to course'.

Method 3: Payment Integration

On an order form, add the course as a 'Resource'. Access will be granted automatically upon successful payment.

How are full, drip, and partial content access types different?

A comparison of the three primary ways to deliver your course modules.

Full Access

The student sees every lesson and module immediately upon enrollment.

Drip Content

Lessons are released on a schedule (e.g., one lesson every 7 days). This keeps students engaged without overwhelming them.

Partial Access

You manually select which specific modules or lessons a student can see. This is useful for 'Lite' versions of your programs.

Why aren't my emails being sent?

Troubleshooting stalled email broadcasts or automation sequences.

Checklist for Stalled Emails

  • Authentication: Ensure your domain is verified and your DNS records (CNAME) are active.

  • Account Limits: Check if you have exceeded the contact or email limit for your current MerwinSaaS plan.

  • Sender Address: Verify that your 'From' email address is confirmed in your account settings.

  • Spam Reports: If your recent emails had high complaint rates, our system may temporarily pause your sending for review.

Good practices for email deliverability

Proactive steps to keep your emails out of the spam folder.

Deliverability Habits

  • Use a Custom Domain: Always send from a domain you own.

  • Maintain Hygiene: Regularly remove 'cold' subscribers who haven't opened an email in 90 days.

  • Avoid Spam Triggers: Don't use 'clickbait' subject lines or excessive capitalization.

  • Include a Clear Unsubscribe: It's better for a user to unsubscribe than to mark your email as spam.

How the MerwinSaaS affiliate program works

Earn recurring commissions by promoting MerwinSaaS to your audience.

Program Overview

The MerwinSaaS affiliate program allows you to earn a percentage of all subscriptions and course sales generated through your unique link.

Commission Structure

  • - Recurring Revenue: You receive a percentage for the lifetime of a customer's subscription.

  • - Payouts: Commissions are typically paid out monthly once they reach a minimum threshold.

  • - Tracking: We use a 6-month cookie period to ensure you get credited for leads you refer.

Integrating your subdomain with MerwinSaaS

Use a professional custom subdomain for your landing pages and funnels.

What is a Subdomain?

A subdomain looks like 'pages.yourdomain.com' instead of the standard 'yourname.merwinsaas.com'.

Setup Steps

  1. 1. Go to Settings and then 'Custom Domains'.

  1. 2. Click 'Add domain' and enter your subdomain.

  1. 3. Log into your domain provider and create the CNAME records provided by MerwinSaaS.

  1. 4. Wait for propagation (usually 2-24 hours) for the status to show 'Ready to use'.

My domain name is not approved

Troubleshoot common reasons for domain validation failures.

Common Rejection Reasons

  • - Incorrect DNS Settings: Double-check that your CNAME records exactly match what is in your MerwinSaaS settings.

  • - Propagation Time: Domain changes are not instant; it can take up to 24 hours for the system to 'see' your updates.

  • - SSL Issues: If you have an existing SSL certificate on your domain, it might conflict with the one MerwinSaaS generates automatically.

  • - Formatting: Ensure you are not including 'https://' or extra slashes in the domain field.

The difference between an upsell and an order bump

Learn which sales tool to use to increase your average order value.

Order Bumps

An order bump is a small checkbox on the checkout page itself. It is usually a complementary, lower-priced product (e.g., a workbook to go with a course).

Upsells

An upsell is a separate page that appears after the initial purchase is complete. It offers a higher-value product or a bulk discount.

My funnels are gone

Locate missing funnels or understand why they may have disappeared from your list.

Check Your Filters

Often, funnels are hidden because of active filters. Ensure your funnel list is set to 'All' and not just 'Active' or 'Archived'.

Account Switching

If you manage multiple MerwinSaaS accounts, double-check that you are logged into the correct one.

Archived Funnels

Funnels aren't permanently deleted immediately; check the 'Archive' section to see if they were moved there accidentally.

How much does it cost to send 1 million emails a month with MerwinSaaS?

Pricing details for high-volume email marketing.

Unlimited Plan

To send 1 million emails per month, we recommend the 'Unlimited' plan. This plan offers unlimited email sending for a flat monthly fee, making it the most cost-effective solution for high-volume senders.

No Per-Email Fees

Unlike many competitors, MerwinSaaS does not charge per email sent. You only pay for your subscription tier, which covers your volume as long as you stay within the plan's contact limits.

Setting up email campaigns: a guide to common scenarios and key considerations

Best practices for creating automated email sequences.

Scenario 1: Welcome Sequence

Trigger: When a tag is added. Goal: Introduce your brand and deliver the lead magnet.

Scenario 2: Re-engagement

Trigger: Inactivity for 30 days. Goal: Win back cold subscribers with a special offer.

Key Considerations

  • - Timing: Space your emails out so you don't overwhelm your subscribers.

  • - Segmentation: Use tags to ensure subscribers only receive relevant content.

What is a two-step order form?

Improve conversion rates by breaking up the checkout process.

Overview

A two-step order form splits the checkout process into two parts. Step 1 collects the contact info (name/email), and Step 2 collects payment details.

The Benefit

The main advantage is lead capture. Even if someone doesn't complete Step 2, you have already captured their email in Step 1, allowing you to follow up with an abandoned cart sequence.

What is an email preview?

Check your email's appearance across different devices before sending.

Testing Your Design

The email preview tool allows you to see how your broadcast or campaign email will look on both desktop and mobile screens.

Test Emails

Beyond the editor preview, we always recommend sending a 'Test Email' to your own inbox. This allows you to check if links work and see how the subject line appears in a real inbox environment.

How to Authenticate Your Domain Name on IONOS

In this article, you will learn how to set up authentication for your domain name on IONOS.

What you will need:

  • A MerwinSaaS account

  • A domain name on IONOS

Case 1: Sending Emails via MerwinSaaS

Step 1: Log In to Your MerwinSaaS Account

  1. Hover over your profile picture and click Settings, then Emails.

  1. Go to the Domains section, then click "Click here to authenticate your domain and display its information in your email header, which will help improve your email delivery rates."

  1. In the popup, enter your domain name without the "www", then click Save to generate three CNAME records and one TXT (DMARC) record.

  1. Refresh the page and click the eye icon to display your DNS records.

IMPORTANT:

  1. Authentication of a domain name is mandatory to send emails from MerwinSaaS.

  1. The domain must have an active website linked to it. A domain leading to a 404 error may cause email providers to block your emails.

  1. You cannot authenticate domains from personal email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, ProtonMail, etc.). Only custom domains can be authenticated.

Step 2: On Your IONOS Account

Log in to your IONOS account and navigate to the DNS settings for your domain. Add the provided CNAME records to your DNS zone. If you encounter difficulties, contact your host's support team.

  1. Once logged in, select the domain you want to authenticate, click DNS, then Add a record.

  1. Select the CNAME option for adding the first three records.

  1. In the Hostname field, paste only the part before your domain name from the MerwinSaaS record (e.g., enter only "si942517" if the full value is si942517.yourdomain.com).

  1. In the Value (Points to) field, paste the value provided by MerwinSaaS and append a period (.) to the end.

Example records (values are examples):

Name: si942517     Value: inbound.merwinsaas.

Name: merwinsaas1._domainkey     Value: key1.merwinsaas.

Name: merwinsaas2._domainkey     Value: key2.merwinsaas.

Click Save to validate. Repeat for all three CNAME records.

  1. Select TXT for adding the DMARC record. Copy the generated TXT from your MerwinSaaS account and add it as:

Name: _dmarc

Value: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:your@email.com

  1. Click Save to validate.

How to Automate the Process of Cleaning Up Your Contact List

This guide shows you how to automatically clean up your contact list on MerwinSaaS.

What you will need:

  • A MerwinSaaS account

  • A contact list

Accessing the Automatic List Cleaning Settings

  1. Hover over your profile picture and click Settings.

  1. In the settings menu, click Emails.

You will see two options:

  1. Every week Unsubscribe/Delete all contacts who have not opened any email for 1 to 26 weeks and who have never purchased anything.

  1. Every week Unsubscribe/Delete all contacts who have not opened any email for 1 to 26 weeks and who have already purchased something.

Examples

Automatically delete non-purchasing inactive contacts (e.g., 8 weeks): Check the box "Every week delete all contacts who have not opened any email for 8 weeks and who have never purchased anything."

Automatically unsubscribe non-purchasing inactive contacts (e.g., 8 weeks): Check the box "Every week unsubscribe all contacts who have not opened any email for 8 weeks and who have never purchased anything." Note: Unsubscribing removes them from future emails but does not delete them from your contact list.

Automatically delete purchasing inactive contacts (e.g., 8 weeks): Check the box "Every week delete all contacts who have not opened any email for 8 weeks and who have already purchased something." This applies to existing customers.

Automatically unsubscribe purchasing inactive contacts (e.g., 8 weeks): Check the box "Every week unsubscribe all contacts who have not opened any email for 8 weeks and who have already purchased something." These contacts are not removed from your list but will no longer receive emails.

Important

  • If you want to keep sales records for accounting purposes, we recommend unsubscribing inactive contacts rather than deleting them.

  • Removing unengaged contacts improves your email deliverability. Maintaining an engaged list ensures better open rates and overall statistics.

Step 2: On Your LWS Account

Log in to your LWS account and navigate to the DNS settings for your domain. Add the provided CNAME records to your DNS zone. If you encounter difficulties, contact your host's support team.

  1. Once logged in, click Manage next to your domain, go to Domain Management, then DNS Zone.

  1. Select the CNAME option for adding the first three records.

  1. In the Name field, paste only the part before your domain name from the MerwinSaaS record (e.g., enter only "si942517" if the full value is si942517.yourdomain.com).

  1. In the Value field, paste the value provided by MerwinSaaS and append a period (.) to the end.

Name: si942517     Value: inbound.merwinsaas.

Name: merwinsaas2._domainkey     Value: key2.merwinsaas.

Click Add to validate. Repeat for all three CNAME records.

  1. Select TXT for adding the DMARC record. Copy the generated TXT from your MerwinSaaS account and add it as:

Name: _dmarc

Value: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:your@email.com

  1. Click Add to validate.

  1. Verify your CNAME records at dnschecker.org — a green check means successful authentication. If any appear red, check your DNS settings and contact support with a screenshot.

  1. Verify your DMARC record at mxtoolbox.com/dmarc.aspx.

What you will need:

  • To be enrolled in the MerwinSaaS affiliate program

1. How Does It Work?

The MerwinSaaS affiliate program applies to all forms and all pages created with MerwinSaaS — blog articles, opt-in pages, sales pages, payment pages, etc.

2. How to Add Your Affiliate ID to the URL

Simply add ?sa=YOURAFFILIATEID at the end of the URL (replacing YOURAFFILIATEID with your actual affiliate ID).

Example:

Blog post link: https://merwinsaas.com/blog/category/online-tools

Your affiliate link: https://merwinsaas.com/blog/category/online-tools?sa=sa00041537157dbe466c95a6395de4e031d503bea587

To find your affiliate ID, go to Dashboard, then Affiliate Dashboard. Your affiliate ID will be displayed there — click the copy icon to copy it.

Enter the email address associated with your PayPal account, then save your settings.

Option B: Wire Transfer

  1. Click Add bank details.

Notes

  • If you want to be paid via Wire Transfer, you must set up a separate payment method for each currency in which you've earned commissions. For PayPal, a single configuration covers all currencies.

  1. Add &tk= at the end of the affiliate link.

  1. Add the tag you want.

How to Authenticate Your Domain Name for Email Sending

In this article, you will learn how to authenticate your domain name for email sending.

What you will need:

  • A MerwinSaaS account

  • A domain name

Step 1: Access Your Domain Settings

  1. Hover over your profile picture and click on Settings.

  1. In the settings menu, click Emails.

  1. Go to the Domains section, then click the link labeled: "Click here to authenticate your domain and display its information in your email header, which will help improve your email delivery rates."

  1. In the popup that appears, enter your domain name (without the "www").

  1. Click Save to generate the three CNAME records to be integrated into the DNS settings of your domain host.

The list of three CNAME records will appear in a table, along with a DMARC record. Both must be added to your host for authentication.

IMPORTANT:

  1. Authentication of a domain name is mandatory to send emails from MerwinSaaS.

  1. The domain you want to authenticate must have an active website linked to it. If the domain leads to a 404 error page, email providers may block your emails.

  1. You cannot authenticate domains from personal email providers (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, ProtonMail). Only custom domains can be authenticated.

Step 2: Log In to Your Domain Host

Access your domain host account and add the provided CNAME records to your domain's DNS zone. If you encounter difficulties, contact your host's support team for guidance.

Using GoDaddy as an example:

  1. Navigate to the domain you want to authenticate, click DNS records, then Add new record.

  1. Select the CNAME option for the first 3 records.

  1. In the Name field, enter only the part before your domain name from the MerwinSaaS record (e.g., enter only "si942517" if the full value shows "si942517.yourdomain.com").

  1. In the Value field, paste the value provided by MerwinSaaS. Add a period (.) at the end.

  1. Click Save. Repeat for all three CNAME records.

  1. Select the TXT option and add the DMARC record provided by MerwinSaaS (Name: _dmarc, Value: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:your@email.com). Click Save.

  1. Verify your CNAME records at dnschecker.org — a green check next to each means successful authentication. If any appear red, check your DNS settings for errors.

  1. Verify your DMARC record at mxtoolbox.com/dmarc.aspx.

IMPORTANT: To send emails using your authenticated domain, you must confirm the sender email address associated with that domain.
