How to Create a Google Postmaster Tool Account for Your Domain

To gain insights into your email performance on Gmail — such as delivery errors and spam reports — you need to create a Google Postmaster Tool (GPT) account, verify your domain, and grant our team access to your data.

1. How to Create a GPT Account and Verify Your Domain

To use the Google Postmaster Tool, you must have a Google Account. Once logged in, go to the Google Postmaster Tools dashboard (postmaster.google.com). From the dashboard, scroll to the bottom right and click Add. Enter the domain to verify, then click Next.

A. Add a TXT Record

1.     Copy the TXT record value from the popup.

2.     In your hosting provider's DNS settings, select TXT from the record type dropdown.

3.     In the TXT value field, paste the verification code you copied.

4.     Click Add record to save, then click Validate in your GPT account to complete domain verification.

B. If You Encounter Issues — Add a CNAME Record Instead

5.     Enter your domain name and click Next, then click on "Adding a CNAME record."

6.     Create a CNAME-type record in your hosting provider's DNS zone using the Host and Target information that was generated.

7.     Insert the CNAME Label/Host into the Name field and the CNAME Destination/Target into the Content field. For the name field, only copy what comes before the domain name.

8.     Once the CNAME record is added, go back to Postmaster Tools and click Validate.
